SMW-AUTOBLOK Worldwide

HISTORY

SMW-AUTOBLOK has its roots in a sales company for clamping devices, originally founded in 1967 under the name SMW in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The abbreviation SMW is derived from the initials of the surnames of the company’s original founders. Following the merger with AUTOBLOK S.p.A., a company based in Caprie (Turin), Italy, SMW-AUTOBLOK Spannsysteme GmbH was established in 1993.

THE FUTURE

The future of workholding technology lies in digitalization, particularly in innovative products for the digitalization and automation of processes. By combining SMW-AUTOBLOK’s clamping technology with the products and technologies of SMW-electronics, new digitized industrial processes can be implemented that also take current sustainability requirements into account. SMW-AUTOBLOK and SMW-electronics are evolving into global suppliers for the digital factory of the future.
